Rent in Sacramento Continues to Rise
Rent continues to rise throughout California and the state’s capital is no exception. The median monthly rent for a two-bedroom apartment in Sacramento was $1,220 in May, compared with $3,100 in San Francisco — the most expensive of California’s major cities. Median rents in the city increased .4% in the last month, and 1.7% in the last year, according to Apartment List.
With the increase in rental prices and the decreasing supply of homes available to rent, many people are seriously looking to buy a home in the Sacramento suburbs. The town of Antelope, located less than 30 minutes from downtown Sacramento, is a city that has recently began seeing increased growth. With an abundance of parks, biking trails, and affordable new housing such as Elverta Park, it’s no surprise many families are attracted to the area.
